Basic Folder Information

Western IRB (WIRB)

Note

Note: All WIRB submissions still need to be printed and brought to the Human Subject Research Office for processing and subsequent submission to WIRB.

New Studies

New Studies:

Currently, no new studies are being sent to the Western IRB (WIRB) for review. However, should you require that a study be sent to WIRB, please contact the Human Subject Research Office to request a special dispensation allowing your study to go to WIRB. Once such dispensation is approved, please attach the following forms to your submission:

Initial Review Submission Form

-- Or --

Investigator Submission Form for Multi-Center Protocols

University of Miami policies also require that you complete an eProst New Study Application. Upon selecting "full board review" as the review type and indicating that the study will be reviewed at WIRB, eProst will branch you only to those sections that are required for recordkeeping at UM.

Ongoing Studies

Ongoing Studies:

Many existing studies currently at WIRB are being reacquired at continuing review. If you have been notified that your study will be reacquired, please log into eProst and verify that the information entered in eProst reflects the most current WIRB-approved version of your study prior to creating a continuing report in eProst.

For ongoing studies that will remain at WIRB, you will be required to submit the appropriate WIRB forms to the Human Subject Research Office for processing and subsequent submission to WIRB.
